don’t you think that’s a loaded question because you’re talking about a series made up of almost 20 games spanning over 27 years that have been influenced by numerous contextual variables resulting in vastly varying portrayals of female characters, some of which may be more or less “sexist” than another? (not that anybody can seem to agree on what exactly counts as sexism beyond broad, general ideas but w/e)
but if we’re going to go that route I think that on a whole the series is far better about presenting good, well rounded female characters that don’t capitalize on the sensibilities of immature (heterosexual) manchildren who have zero idea of how women actually are irl than a lot of other popular franchises
- if you are a vegan
- tell me and i will never serve you meat and/or try to question you about it
- but if you ever
- tell me that im a killer
- or try to make me feel bad
- for eating meat
ok but consider this: you should feel bad.
ok but consider this: i WILL eat you
Remember how when Capaldi was chosen as the twelfth doctor everyone had this feeble hope that he would bring Doctor Who back to what it was because he was a film director and not the mysoginistic Moffat kind
AND THEN WE HEAR THAT HE’S REFUSING TO FLIRT WITH CLARA AND IS GOING TO BRING “a bit more gravity” BACK TO DOCTOR WHO AND "I didn’t want to be Doctor Who in a Doctor Who I didn’t like,"
I am punching the air right now.
I look cute right now my camera just doesn’t understand
